Type of Institution:
The College of The Bahamas is a publicly supported tertiary level educational institution. Through seven teaching divisions it offers a wide range of programmes in arts and sciences and in professional studies to nearly 4000 full-time and part-time students. Historically the institution has placed primary emphasis on teaching, but recently it has begun to develop a strong research capacity. It is primarily a two-year programme institution but is now adding four-year programmes leading to bachelor's degree credentials.
