The country hosts the Regional bureau for Science in Latin America and the Caribbean, located in Montevideo, which is also the Cluster Office covering Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Uruguay participates in various science-related projects, one of which focuses on the integrated management of the northern shore of the Rio de la Plata, with an emphasis on the resolution of conflicts over resource use.
