The projects arising out of the cooperation between Mauritania and UNESCO have a social dimension and should be viewed in the light of the struggle against poverty.
Mauritania has established an innovative system of Living Human Treasures aimed at promoting the bearers of intangible heritage and encouraging the transmission of their know-how.
