Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is represented on the World Heritage List by two natural and three cultural sites.

The country is making every effort to make young persons and journalists aware of the importance of this heritage.

The Mbende Jerusarema Dance was proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005. A safeguard plan has been established to facilitate the transmission of this expression.

In the area of cultural industries, Zimbabwe is committed to strengthening the enforcement of copyright legislation and intensifying its efforts towards combatting piracy

Other areas of cooperation between Zimbabwe and UNESCO are the development of tourism of memory and the conservation of heritage linked to African liberation through its participation in the Slave Route Project.
