Ireland participates in a number of earth science projects, including the study of the East African rift system, and the study of the Black Sea corridor. It is also contributing to a Hydrology for the Environment, Life and Policy programme (HELP) project in the transboundary Oona/Blackwater basin, which is shared with the United kingdom.
