    The Republic of Korea joined UNESCO on June 14, 1950. The country is covered by the UNESCO Office Beijing.

    The country holds two UNESCO Chairs and is home to four UNEVOC Centres. Currently, the Republic of Korea has 50 schools participating in UNESCO’s Associated Schools Projects Network (ASPnet).

    In 1999, the Republic of Korea hosted the Second International Congress on Technical and Vocational Education. The country is committed to the field of education, especially to the goals of Education for All (EFA) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

    In 2005, the Republic of Korea further demonstrated its dedication to innovative education through its participation in the Regional Workshop on Management of Curriculum Change in Asia and the Pacific.
