CLIMATE CHANGE PLATFORM

Implementing Adaptation to Climate Change in East and West Africa

Implementing Adaptation to Climate Change in East and West Africa

3-5 November 2010, Nairobi, Kenya

UNESCO-IOC is hosting a 3-day workshop on Implementing Adaptation to Climate change in East and West Africa to raise awareness of its Member States on the available opportunities to implement long-term adaptation to climate change by building resilience and reducing vulnerabilities and hazards on oceans and coasts.

Some of the expected outputs are that national authorities will identify key priority actions to implement adaptation to climate change. Key actions will include capacity-development needs in science and management issues related to climate, oceans and coasts at national and subregional levels.

The workshop is organized in cooperation with and hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources of Kenya in Nairobi.
