Tuesday, 17 March 2009 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in UNESCO Paris (Room XII).

An information meeting for all Permanent Delegates and Observers to UNESCO on international efforts for the prevention of natural disasters and on UNESCO’s contribution to this field will be held on Tuesday, 17 March 2009 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Room XII, Fontenoy Building.

The meeting will be chaired by Mr Walter Erdelen, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences, Ms Debarati Guha-Sapir, Director of the Centre for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters, Mr Thomas Loster, Chairman of Munich Re Foundation and Mr Badaoui Rouhban, Director, UNESCO Section for Disaster Reduction will make presentations during the meeting.

Simultaneous interpretation of the proceedings will be provided in English and French.
