The first issue of the Malay edition of A World of Science may now be consulted online. Dunia Sains, as it is called, is hosted by the Academy of Sciences of Malaysia.
The Malay edition of UNESCO’s newsletter was officially launched on 22 May in Kuala Lumpur by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, at the inauguration of the International Centre for South-South Co-operation in Science, Technology and Innovation, under the auspices of UNESCO.
Dunia Sains brings to five the number of language versions of UNESCO’s quarterly newsletter, which is published in January, April, July and October. Each issue may also be freely consulted online in English, French, Malay, Russian and Spanish.
The first issue of A World of Science to be translated into Malay is the October 2007 issue launching the International Year of Planet Earth. A Malay edition of the January and April issues will follow shortly. The October issue of A World of Science will be profiling Langkawi Geopark in Malaysia, a member of UNESCO’s Global Network of National Geoparks.
