The country is covered by the National UNESCO Office in Islamabad.

The flora and fauna consist of a blend of Palaearctic and Indo-malayan elements, with some groups from the Ethiopian region. Pakistan is currently involved in a variety of projects related to freshwater, biodiversity, earth sciences, oceans, gender issues and poverty reduction.
