  • South West Nova Biosphere Reserve, Canada

The country is supporting the Regional School on Integrated Management of Tropical Forests and Territories (ERAIFT), located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Run by UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere programme (MAB) with the assistance of several countries, mostly sub-Saharan, ERAIFT is training a new generation of African specialists and decision-makers to apply the ecosystem approach in situ to forest management in Africa.

The Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association very actively promotes the concept and its various applications within different contexts in the country.

Canada participates in a plethora of earth sciences projects, spanning the globe and as diverse in subject as the structure of the Earth’s crust to the formation of the Rheic Ocean.

Below you can access the projects that are currently being implemented in the country within the framework of UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.
