Switzerland currently has two biosphere reserves listed with UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme, including one located in the Alps, and is involved in one project aiming to study mountain ecosystems.

Switzerland is currently involved in a large quantity of UNESCO earth science projects, with interests ranging from the formation of the Rheic Ocean to the study of submarine mass movements.

Below you can access the projects that are currently being implemented in the country within the framework of UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.
