The country hosts a UNESCO Cluster Office in Moscow, which covers Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation and UNESCO Natural Sciences Sector cooperate closely in several fields. For instance, it participated in the creation of the International Basic Sciences Programme, aimed at developing the scientific potential of Member States and encouraging joint research projects at the international level.

The transboundary Lake Peipsi-Chudskoe Basin, which it shares with Estonia, is the subject of several water-related UNESCO projects.

Below you can access the projects that are currently being implemented in the country within the framework of UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.
