The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Quito, Ecuador.
At present, Venezuela is involved in a number of earth science projects, ranging from the seismic microzoning of Latin America to the study of karst aquifers.
It is also involved in the Caribbean Coastal Productivity Programme (CARICOMP), a regional programme that aims to contribute to integrated coastal management by determining the factors that regulate productivity of the main coastal ecosystems in the Caribbean and assessing the nature and influence of land-sea interactions.
