"Mercosur Award in Science and Technology"

The prize will be awarded at the "Asociación Latinoamericana de integración (ALADI)" in Montevideo, (Uruguay) on 12 November 2009.

UNESCO invites engineering students and researchers of  Mercosur: Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela to present their works in the area of "Agro industry" and to participate in the "Science and Technology UNESCO-Mercosur Award - 2009".

Agro-industry is considered as a branch of industry that processes native raw material from agriculture, cattle raising, aquaculture or forestry and then it is sold for consumption. use or as raw material for other industries.    

Objectives of the Award:

  • award and recognize the best work of students, young researchers and research teams, representing a potential contribution to the scientific and technological development of member countries and partners in Mercosur.
  • encourage the realization of scientific and technological research and innovation-oriented Mercosur 
  • Contribute to the process of regional integration among member countries and partners in Mercosur by the increase in the dissemination of the achievements and progress in the field of scientific and technological development in the Mercosur.
