Closing date for the competition : 30 April 2008

UNESCO would like to bring to the attention of possible participants the call for submissions for the Essay Competition, open for young professionals (under 30), by the Global Forum for Health Research together with The Lancet.

The theme for 2008 is “Climate change and health: research challenges for vulnerable populations”. The competition invites people working in or interested in the broad spectrum of research for health and development to apply. The closing date for the competition is 30 April 2008.

Prizes:

  • A selection of shortlisted essays will be published in an anthology as well as on the Global Forum and Lancet websites.
  • Winners will be invited to take part (with all expenses paid) in the Global Ministerial Forum on Research for Health, which will take place in Bamako, Mali, from 17 to 19 November 2008.

UNESCO is partnered with the Global Forum for Health Research, the Council on Health Research for Development, the Republic of Mali, the World Bank and WHO for the Global Ministerial Forum on Research for Health in Bamako, Mali from 17 to 19 November 2008 (Bamako 2008).
