The EABRN priority issues such as implementation of Seville Strategy, Madrid Action Plan, conservation policies, ecotourism, capacity building, the linkage between cultural and biological diversity and Transboundary biodiversity conservation will be discussed. As always, a Biosphere Reserve field evaluation will be carried out at Wuyishan Biosphere Reserve which is also part of Natural Heritage.

The EABRN-11 aims particularly to achieve the following objectives:

  • Exchange information and experience on conservation and management of biosphere reserves and other similarly managed protected areas in the East Asian countries in light of the Seville Strategy, Madrid Action Plan, Adaptation to Climate Change and Biosphere Reserve as learning site for Sustainable Development;
  • Review and update EABRN activities on its priority issues;
  • Carry out a field evaluation for the Wuyishan Biosphere Reserve;
  • Elaborate an activity plan for EABRN cooperation for the period of 2010 - 2011.
