NATURAL SCIENCES

Who's who?

The issues linked to natural disaster and their mitigation are crosscutting. Consequently, various Division, Sections and Programmes of the UNESOC Natural Sciences are involved in the different aspects and challenges of natural disaster reduction. These unites include the Divisions of Water Sciences, Ecological and Earth Sciences, Basic and Engineering Sciences.  The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and UNESCO Fields Offices are also engaged in disaster risk reduction.

The Section for Disaster Reduction headed by Mr Badaoui Rouhban, is part of the Basic and Engineering Sciences Division, headed by Mr M. Nalecz, Director SC/BES.
