Tunisia

Organization of two conferences dedicated to operational oceanography and collection of ocean data as a contribution to the anniversary.

Inclusion of the anniversary logo and information about the IOC and its 50 years activities in the website of the National Institute on Marine Science and Technology.

Organization of the open door day for the youth to make them acquainted with the ocean and coastal issues.

From 10-21 July 2010 the Marine Environment Laboratory (MEL) implemented a cruise on board R/V Hannibal of INSTM. At the meeting of MEL prior to the cruise there was a meeting at which the history of IOC, its achievment and flagship programmes were presented. Young people who attended the meeting, were incouraged to learn more about the IOC by visiting the IOC website and by taking active participation in regional activities.

Two students from Tunisia received scholarships and two others participated in the work of IOC Hamful Algal Bloom Programme.
