In 2010, Jakarta Tsunami Information Center produced the booklet "Where the First Wave Arrives in Minutes" summarizing Indonesian lessons on surviving tsunamis near their sources. Same year the booklet was published by the IOC of UNESCO. Many of the lessons in the booklet are based on eyewitnesses to two-fast arriving tsunamis of 26 December 2004 and of 17 July 2006. The lessons outlined cover three main themes: earliest warnings, warnings when a tsunami is underway, and evacuation strategies.
