Asia and the Pacific

The National Oceanographic and Marine Science Committee will launch a TV programme dedicated to the Anniversary. There will be an educational programme on oceans organized for school children.

A special volume of "Vidurawa" Journal about the Oceans will be issued in 2010. The National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA), an IOC focal point in the country, will organize a regional scientific seminar to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of IOC. A high level meeting dedicated to the IOC 50th Anniversary was organized in April 2010.
