Ceremony to be held in UNESCO Paris

The Medal was established at the initiative of the International Commission for the development of the EOLSS (Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems) theme on Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies.

The Director-General of UNESCO, Ms Irina Bokova, will be present at the ceremony to award the two laureates, Academician Zhores Alferov (Nobel Prize in Physics in 2000) and Professor Chunli Bai, Executive Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
