The project ABC “Assisting Bioethics Committees” aims at reinforcing the bioethics infrastructure in Member States through the establishment of National Bioethics Committees (with a wider mandate than research ethics committees), and, once they are established, through the enhancement of the functioning of committees. It is an essential component of UNESCO’s capacity building effort in the area of ethics of science and technology.
