Ukraine - Passauer Neue Presse Medical Centres
Thanks to generous fundraising by the German newspaper, Passauer Neue Presse, UNESCO supported three medical institutions in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
Prev Projects 3 of 3
Up-to-date medical technology was financed for the Infant Cancer Hospital, as well as for the Special Clinic for the treatment of children with severe burns. The Social Centre “Father’s House” in nearby Petrovskoje also needed improved sanitation and medical equipment, not to mention modern security measures and better educational facilities. By the end of 2006, the Ukrainian UNESCO commission had implemented the first part of these relief measures.
