Russia - Children of Russia Foundation
This project is an integral part of the Children of Russia Foundation education programme designed for children with cancer and blood diseases.
In 2006, a 3-week summer camp was organized to gather together 30 sick children from different regions of Russia for a rehabilitation course which was designed to be medical, educational, social and psychological in its support. The camp’s main thrust, however, was mainly on the concept of inclusive education to give children a chance to catch up with school studies and thereby feel part of the education process back at home. Work was carried out in groups with studios in art, ceramics, photography, theatre, games and role-playing. Children returned to their community and schools with a new outlook and strength, eager to be active participants again.
