PWRDC Board Meeting
First meeting of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Women's Research and Documentation Center was held 19 June 2007 in Ramallah.
 

The inaugural meeting of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Women’s Research and Documentation Center (PWRDC) was held on 19 June 2007 on the premises of the Center. Board Members, including the Minister of Women’s Affairs, H.E. Ms Khouloud Daibes and the Assistant Director-General for the Social and Human Sciences (ADG/SHS) Mr. Pierre Sané, discussed a number of issues notably:

It was also decided that the Board will meet three times per year; that consultations will be held with relevant Palestinian parties on the future legal status of the Center. Members of the Board of Directors of the Center for 2007-2009 are: The Palestinian Women’s Research and Documentation Center was established in collaboration the Palestinian Ministry of Women’s Affairs as a “Special Project” of the Social and Human Sciences Sector of UNESCO, further to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the two parties on 13 May 2005. Opened in January 2006, the Center’s goals are to support the development of policy-oriented research and research-based policies that promote gender equality and the human rights of Palestinian women. It also serves as an observatory on the status and condition of Palestinian women and a clearinghouse on information related to women’s issues in Palestine.
