Learn about Human Rights Education: Exhibition of Learning MaterialsMore than 50 Member States have responded to the call to exhibit learning materials and textbooks that show how human rights education is put into practice in different countries around the world. The exhibition pays tribute to the work of all those involved in human rights education around the world. It showcases textbooks, manuals, toolkits and multimedia materials that teach about human rights, democratic citizenship, tolerance, a culture of peace and non-violence.

These materials were collected from Member States through the National Commissions for UNESCO. They bear witness to the creativity and commitment of countries to basic human rights principles and show how children worldwide are being educated to become responsible citizens, based on knowledge of their own, and others’ human rights.

The exhibition will take place at UNESCO headquarters, December 2nd - 10th, 2008.
