05-11-2008 (UNESCOPRESS) - How can we fight racism and discrimination in stadiums and on playing fields? What action can municipalities take to combat this plague? On 6 November, five young representatives of three European cities (Botkyrka, Erlangen, Nuremberg) affiliated with the European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR) visited the European Parliament in Brussels and presented a set of recommendations for preventing and responding to racist behaviour in amateur and professional sports.

16-07-2008 (UNESCOPRESS) - UNESCO and the Brazilian television network TV-Globo will sign a new agreement on 17 July at Organization Headquarters, prolonging their partnership launched in 2004 for another six years. This will enable them to continue the Criança Esperança programme, which funds projects for children and young people in Brazil.
