National Commissions for UNESCO and Permanent Delegations of Member States commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Throughout 2008, National Commissions for UNESCO and Permanent Delegations are organizing activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The activities are held both at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and in Member States. Their main purpose is to promote reflection on specific responsibilities and competences of UNESCO with regard to human rights, and on emerging ethical and social challenges in the context of UNESCO’s core mandate.
