Launching Event of the Publication "Humains doués de conscience" (Human Beings Endowed with a Conscience)
Organized in the framework of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Jacqueline Roche, photographer, publishes with the publisher “L’Inévitable” the book “Humains doués de conscience” (Human Beings Endowed with a Conscience). It will be officially presented at UNESCO’s headquarters, within the framework of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human rights, Tuesday 9 December 2008 at 6.30 p.m. (open to the public).

This publication of 30 black and white portraits of French well-known athletes aims at reflecting on the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This Declaration, so many times quoted and yet not widely known, has to be passed on, in particular, to the youngest.

Famous or less known, these 30 “Humains doués de conscience” (Human Beings Endowed with a Conscience) offered their perspectives by testifying, in a neutral context, without any brands or sponsor. The company “L’Inévitable” committed itself to donate some of the royalties from this book to associations or humanitarian initiatives.

This book, with a preface of François Zimeray, Human Rights Ambassador, is published under the patronage of the French Commission to UNESCO and United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC).
