The publication focuses on experimental work done in the landscape rehabilitation of the quarries of Mahdia (Tunisia). It is the result of an international experience which gathered students, professors and experts in landscape architecture, architecture, urbanism and tourism.

Taking into account the creative interaction between the Maghreb, the Middle East, Europe and North America, the workshop let the singular nature of the quarries and their surroundings revive.

Earlier, in August 2008, the publication was launched in Mahdia, in the presence of Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec, chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design at the University of Montreal.
