12-12-2007 (UNESCO) - The 2006 Fair Play Awards took place on December 7th, 2007 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. UNESCO Director General, Koïchiro Matsuura, the former President of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Antonio Samaranch, and President of the International Committee for Fair Play, Jenő Kamuti all took part in the ceremony.

06-12-2007 (UNESCO) - On 5 December 2007 an agreement was signed by the Government of Greece and UNESCO to establish an Observatory on Women, Sport, and Physical Education, following the adoption by UNESCO's 34th General Conference. The Observatory will be a web-based structure focusing on gender policy and sport management.

22-06-2007 (UNESCO) - Traditional sports and games will be at the heart of the 450th anniversary of Bachkortostan’s unification with Russia, which will take place in Ufa from the 9th to the 11th of October 2007. UNESCO will help co-organize the World Wrestling Championships as well as an international conference on traditional wrestling and sustainable development.

Participants discussed the general decline in the practice of physical activities.
