Migrants Rights International is the independent global monitoring body focusing on the human rights of migrants. Its purposes are: to promote recognition and respect for the rights of all migrants; to advocate for ratification of the 1990 International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families; to facilitate the efforts of migrant associations and other non-governmental organizations in advocating for migrants rights; and to monitor trends and developments in the situation of migrants' rights and welfare.

MRI is a non-governmental association in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
