In a world of profound transformations – political, economic, cultural and social - where new obstacles and challenges to human rights continue to emerge, human rights research acquires additional importance.
 

india_200px.jpg UNESCO's activities in the field of human rights research are aimed at further elucidation of the content of human rights, focusing on those for which the Organization has a special responsibility: The results of research should serve to sensitise public opinion and to stimulate national, regional and international action in human rights, contributing thus to their advancement, in accordance with the principles of universality, indivisibility, interdependence and interrelation of all human rights.
