Advanced Course on the International Protection of Human Rights (17-28 August 2009, Turku/Abö, Finland)
organized by the Institute for Human Rights at Abö Akademi University.
Advanced Course on the International Protection of Human Rights (17-28 August 2009, Turku/Abö, Finland)The course aims at providing a profound insight into, and analysis of, the system of international human rights protection in the light of contemporary problems and relevant case law. It is composed of lectures, working groups case studies, seminars and an optional essay.

Participants who have successfully completed the course, including the essay, will be awarded a Diploma equivalent to 10 ECTS. With no essay, the participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance equivalent to 5 ECTS.

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 30. Admittance presupposes, as a general rule, a law degree (or equivalent) and a good basic knowledge of human rights law. Practical experience in the field of human rights, publications and previous participation in special human rights courses are considered a merit.

The participants should pay fees.

The deadline for applications is 20 April 2009.
