Mexican Historian.

· She has been professor of the Colegio de México, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (National University of México) and head of research in the National Institute of Anthropology and History. She was in charge of urban development and cultural promotion areas in governmental administration.

· Her experience with historical sites and urban centers began with the reorganization of the Archivo General de la Nación (National Archives) that was transferred to the historical building of Lecumberri, an ancient city prison. As director of the seminar of urban History (INAH), she opened new perspectives for the studies of Mexico City. In 1986-1988, as Director of the Instituto Sedue, she worked in the Program of Reconstruction of Housing damaged by the earth quake of 1985. After, in 1989 as head of the Secretary of Social Development of Mexico City government, she was in charge of the coordination of the program " Echame una Manita " (Give me a hand) that opened conditions to stop the deterioration of the Mexico City historical center. She coordinated also the works of preservation of the Xochimilco Ecological Park which preserves the landscape of prehispanic Valley of Mexico. Both sites are considered " Patrimony of Mankind " by the UNESCO.

· Between January and August 1994, she was part of the commission of peace and reconciliation in Chiapas. In 1997, as consultant of UNESCO, she assisted the preparation of the program of Social Sustainability of the Historical Center of Quito, Ecuador. Actually, she is professor in the Department of History of the Universidad Iberoamericana and works for the Fundación Carmen Toscano, a non governmental institution in charge of the preservation of the historical movie archive of the Mexican revolution. She has written books and essays about Mexico City's history and urban problems and, in 1996, her book " Political Turmoil " which narrates her experience during the " Diálogos " in the Cathedral of San Cristóbal, Chiapas.
