Human Rights Training for UNESCO Resource Persons

A Learning Module for UNESCO Resource Persons (Orléans, 22-24 June 2005)

Objectives The overall purpose of the proposed 3-day orientation in human rights and human rights-based approach to programming for selected UNESCO staff is to further increase their awareness and knowledge of human rights and human rights-based approach to programming so that they can provide support to efforts within UNESCO for mainstreaming human rights and rights-based approaches to programming, by serving as resource persons. In this capacity, they can assist in close cooperation with the Human Rights and Development Section (SHS/HRS/HRD) in ensuring that UNESCO’s programmes, projects and activities are in line with the UN Reform Programme. Expected Outcomes Increased knowledge and capacities of selected UNESCO staff who were appointed as resource persons in their respective sectors for the process of integrating a human rights-based approach into UNESCO programming Agreement on the specific responsibilities and tasks of resource persons from Headquarters and the field as well as on the type of support expected from SHS/HRS/HRD Agreement on follow-up action Programme (PDF file, 40.3 Ko) General documents Background materials per session Back to "Integrating a Human Rights-Based Approach into UNESCO Activities (Human Rights Mainstreaming)"
