Central Asian workshop on HIV and AIDS TV coverage

Young TV producers from national broadcasting organizations and TV networks from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will attend a five-day Central Asian workshop for critical analysis on HIV and AIDS TV coverage.
Hosted by the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research (KIMEP), the workshop is supported by UNESCO/UBW project: Central Asian young TV producers’ network and training and support of key population.

Two local media trainers experienced with HIV on TV training identified in consultation with UNESCO Almaty Office, as well as 6 experts from Kazakhstan Union of People Living with HIV and senior TV producer will serve as resource persons.

This workshop will contribute to exchange and broadcasting of finalized TV programmes on HIV and AIDS developed by participants during the workshop. The best TV programmes will be recorded to Video DVD to be used as local multimedia materials for Russian edition of the UNESCOs publication: “Getting the Story and Telling it Right, HIV on TV: A Handbook for Television Trainers and Producers”.
