Reporting on Environmental Sustainability: Water- Iraq

The Communication and Information department of the UNESCO Office for Iraq, is organizing a 5 day intensive training courses focused on Reporting on Environmental Sustainability: Water- Iraq.
The workshops will focus on:

  • Sustainable Development as an International Concept with particular reference to environmental Issues;


  • Sustainable Development as framed by the environmental challenges (in particular water) as pertaining to Iraq and the surrounding region;


  • Expert training in Environmental reporting in line with international journalistic best practices;


  • The creation of a network and on line forum for media professionals committed to environmental journalism.

  • Participants will be trained by international media experts from Canal France International and respected Sustainable Development expert from the Environment Research Center (University of Technology, Baghdad).

    Participants will be taught both theoretical and practical approaches to reporting on environmental issues and sustainable development as framed within the Iraqi context.
