In a statement issued in connection with UNESCO’s International Conference on Broadcast Media and Climate Change, which will take place in Paris on 4 and 5 September 2009, UN Secretary-General
Ban Ki-Moon encourages broadcasters to “dedicate
the resources and broadcasting space needed to report on the climate challenge with the seriousness and urgency it deserves.”
Just three months ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Mr Ban underlines the “vital role” played by broadcasters in building the political will necessary to seal a climate change deal that secures our common future.
