Abstract

This issue addresses questions of linguistic diversity and language policy by focussing on endangered minority languages. From a sociolog-linguistic perspective, it attempts to analyse the causes, circumstances and results of language endangerment as well as the social conditions and effects of public policy interventions in favour of the survival of endangered minority languages.
