South Africa
World Book Day has been co-ordinated by the Centre for the Book since its establishment in 1998. the slogan for this year's campaign is "Reading is Forever" and the Centre is responsible for managing a variety of activities.

On the 11th March 2005, the Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity renewed the partnership agreement it had signed in 2004 with the publisher and bookseller Maxi-Livres and with the Grenoble Association for Culture and Development.
