PEER Programme Assessment
peer.jpg February 2004 - The UNESCO Programme of Education for Emergencies and Reconstruction (PEER) provides services to countries in crisis and post-conflict situations in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes Region in the field of primary education, civic education and the culture of peace, vocational training and environmental education.

PEER is an autonomous and independent programme created in 1994 that is fully decentralized and based in Nairobi.

The evaluation sought to assess the contribution and impact of PEER and whether or not its mandate, approach and strategies continue to be relevant. It focused mainly on the period 1999 to 2003.
