Support Mobilization Project for Mayan Education (PROMEM)
pronem.jpg January 2002 - The project (Phase I: 1995-1999 and Phase II: 1999-2002) seeks to mobilize national efforts in Guatemala to provide Mayan children with a bilingual and intercultural education following three decades of armed conflict.

The external evaluation of the Support Mobilization Project for Mayan Education (PROMEM) was organized and implemented with the support of the Representation in Guatemala and the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands to identify secured achievements in PROMEM's second phase, and to consider how PROMEM’s processes could be more widely adopted and how best to secure the project’s sustainability.

Field visits, interviews, working sessions and documentary analysis were undertaken by the evaluation team with the aim of disseminating the results extensively and sharing the recommendations with all those responsible for implementing the processes of national educational reform.
