Summary of the activities
At the beginning of June 2008 Linguapax, an organization dedicated to the promotion of linguistic diversity and linguistic rights around the world, hosted a seminar in Barcelona that brought experts together to discuss the relationship between management of linguistic diversity and the building a culture of peace through peace processes around the world.

The aims of the seminar were to:
- Reflect on the promotion of linguistic and cultural diversity and also the important role of linguistic rights as tools for economic, social and cultural development.
- Present positive experiences from different regions around the world and strengthen coooperation between institutions.
- Reinforce and further promote this area of study through the interdisciplinary combination of elements of
socio-linguistics, political science and peace studies.
