Netherlands


The Netherlands joined UNESCO on 1 January, 1947.

There are two UNESCO Chairs in the country, the UNESCO Utrecht Chair "Africa", established in 1992 at Utrecht University within the framework of UTRECHT for Southern Africa, and the UNESCO Chair in Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy, also established at Utrecht University in 2001.

The Netherlands is home to one UNEVOC Centre and has 8 schools participating in UNESCO’s Associated Schools Projects Network (ASPnet).
