New Video from GEFI asks: Can We Keep the Education Promise?

World leaders made a huge promise to children; that they could all go to school by 2015. But that promise was broken. Today, 59 million children and 65 million adolescents are still out of school.

In 2015, the international community is raising their ambitions; promising inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all. This new video from the UN Secretary General’s Global Education First Initiative (GEFI) imagines a world where we keep this promise.

We look to a world where sufficient funding is found for education, where millions more classrooms are built, and where schools are safe. We imagine a world where schools have good sanitation and water, where millions more teachers are motivated and trained and where there are no school fees or prohibitive costs.

It is a world where no one is left behind.

This video will be screened at GEFI's high-level event. Read more:
