cities_Johannesburg.jpg
The international coalition of cities against racism and discrimination is an initiative launched by UNESCO in 2004 to establish a network of cities interested in sharing experiences in order to improve their policies to fight racism, discrimination and xenophobia. The coalition aims at addressing the issue of Racism and Discrimination by encouraging specifically the policy mainstreaming of the ten-point plan of action. The plan outlines ten actions that the cities should undertake in order to address Racism and Discrimination in African Cities. The plan identifies Women, Youth, People living with HIV/AIDS and the Migrants (International and National) as the vulnerable groups.
