Wastewater Management Training in the Pacific

This training is designed to provide participants with analytical tools, substantive information and skills on how to select, plan and finance appropriate and environmentally sound municipal wastewater management systems.

The training course for wastewater management in the Pacific is being jointly developed by UNEP's Global Programme for Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Sources of Pollution (GPA/UNEP) and the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education. The wastewater training course is addressing one of the Guiding Principles of the Pacific Wastewater Policy and Framework for Action and is being implemented in the Pacific region in 2005-2006 by a consortium of organizations (SOPAC, USP-IAS, IOI, in collaboration with SPREP, UNESCO-IHE, GPA/UNEP and UN/DOALOS).

The training is divided into three modules: Objective oriented planning; Conventional and innovative approaches to municipal wastewater management; Presentation skills.
