The presentation for each sector is prefaced by an ‘achievement/feedback’ box containing achievements realized in Member States in the areas of UNESCO’s competencies. It is important to note that UNESCO is well positioned to promote multi-sectoral and integrated solutions to the challenges of development facing Member States. The section on multisectoral issues emphasizes an important and valuable characteristic of UNESCO, namely having competencies that cover five sectors.
Divided into nine sections, the first five sections cover Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, Culture, and Communication and Information. Section 6 mentions multi-sectoral and joint initiatives, including the United Nations Development Assistance Frameworks. Section 7 introduces activities of the National Commissions. Section 8 tells you more about our staff contingency, a veritable who-is-who in the UNESCO Windhoek Office. Finally, Section 9 delves into how we will go forward in 2010 and beyond, complete with a Results Based Management Logical ScoreCard depicting the performance profile of the Office. |
